Best month for Kitesurfing
From November all the way through until July, Antigua is blessed with steady and reliable north-east trade winds averaging approximately 12 - 18 knots everyday. There are two main kitesurfing beaches in Antiqua; Green Island (only accessible by boat) and Jabbererwock Beach. Adventrus partner with the main kitesurf school in each location, both of which offer a very high level of professionalism
Jabberwock Bay - It is situated within a beautiful National Park on the northern coast of the island. The beach is over a quarter of a mile long with a gentle curve and side-on wind conditions that offer a safe cove for learners and some ‘bump and jump’ conditions further upwind for the more experienced riders. With lots of beach space for rigging, launching and landing your kites, Jabberwock Beach is a great spot to learn to kitesurf. The kitesurf school also offer to pick clients up from the surrounding hotels.
Green Island - The island is only reachable by a few minutes water taxi which is operated by the kitesurf school. There are several pick up points inside the 'Bay of Nonsuch' on which we can advise you at the time of booking. The kite school is on the north beach of Green Island, right at the mouth of Nonsuch Bay. The kitesurfing area is two square miles, and is inside the bay on the windward side of Antigua, with an easy launching point from a sandy beach. The instructors here provide constant support and guidance from inflatable boats whilst teaching. This kite school only operates from December to April.
