Easily reachable via a short flight from many European destinations, Kos is a great value, easy to access destination with a range of good beachfront hotels and fantastic summer weather. Some beautiful beaches are just a short drive from the restaurant and nightlife of Kos Town, and a number of ancient historical sites including grand castles and historic ruins, while a range of walking and hiking can be found in the surrounding countryside.
The island of Kos has long been famous for wind sports due to the reliable Meltemi wind that blows through this region from June through to October. There are a number of high standard watersports centres specialising in windsurfing, kitesurfing and wing foiling scattered around the Island. The most famous regions include the northern parts of the island close to Kos town, and the more remote and quieter southern tip.
