Alacati is a pretty town on the Cesme Peninsula that has become known as the ‘St. Tropez of Turkey’. Located on the edge of a huge windy lagoon with shallow warm water it offers some of the best water sports in the Turkish Aegean. Flights to Izmir airport take three hours or less from central Europe and the transfer to resort is around an hour. This historic town offers much to visitors with cafes, shops, bars and restaurants both along the beach and in town. Furthermore nearby Ilica (8km) and Cesme (15km) are worth a visit.

Conditions in Alacati are perfect for beginner and intermediate windsurfers. The 500 metre long and 400 metre wide shallow, flat water in the warm turquoise lagoon is perfect for learning and improving. Wind speeds pick up throughout the day making morning ideal for beginners and children, while the afternoon is suited to those with more experience and even experts will enjoy it. During the summer the reliable Meltemi blows from the north and, in spring and autumn, you can rely on the Poiras from the south – both provide side-shore conditions.
